Send Love to Türkiye

On 6 February, Türkiye was shattered by a powerful earthquake, with a magnitude measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale. As of 15 February, it is estimated that over 8,000 buildings have collapsed due to the earthquake, killing more than 40,000 people and injuring tens of thousands in Türkiye and Syria.

Soon after the earthquake in Türkiye, Tzu Chi immediately set up a disaster response centre to prepare cash cards and emergency aid supplies, deploying all available eco-blankets and all kinds of living materials in Neihu Park, Taiwan. At the same time, Tzu Chi actively contacted international NGOs, including Doctors without Borders and Airlink Disaster Relief Logistics Foundation, with the hope of shipping the essential supplies to the disaster zone as soon as possible.

After the 1999 massive earthquake of magnitude 7.4 on the Richter scale in Türkiye, Tzu Chi stepped up to provide relief to the survivors and built 300 permanent houses locally. When Taiwan was hit by the 921 earthquake one month later, Türkiye sent a rescue team to Taiwan to help out.

Remarks:

1. No donation receipt will be issued for this fundraising activity. Should you require a receipt from Tzu Chi, please submit cheque or donation on the first floor of Jing Si Hall.
2. All donations raised for overseas disaster relief are non-tax deductible.
3. Donation-in-kind is not accepted for this campaign.
4. All cash collected from Bamboo Coin Banks and donation boxes will be channelled into this fundraising campaign.
5. All donations will be channelled directly to the Global Charity Fund of Buddhist Tzu Chi Charity Foundation ("Foundation") in Taiwan for the purpose of the disaster relief works in Türkiye (Turkey). Any un-utilised funds as at the end of the relief efforts are to be used to support all other charitable causes under the Foundation, which include international relief and humanitarian aid efforts.
